White Wedding
Dressed in white,
so clean and fair,
I watch you from the window there.
Your hair done up, so pretty and sleek,
a smile draped from cheek to cheek.
Yet there is something in the way you stand,
which appears to me rather bland.
Your future depends upon a short, simple walk,
yet does your heart demand you to stop and talk?
It is cold feet that seems to control you,
Even though you thought you knew exactly what you wanted to do.
But concern and questions still swarm your mind,
making it hard to know what you’re suppose to find.
Yet, as they open those chapel doors and reveal your man,
you wonder why you ever doubted your plan.
One simple look was all it took,
For you to realize it is with him you want to hook.
It is him you hope to see after a long, tiring day,
and his touch for which you constantly pray.
Your love for him will never die,
for it is the kind of love no one can ever buy.
I hope, one day, I will feel the same,
for the man who I will share a name.
That forever love you have is one of a kind,
but it is a type of love that I am destined to find.
